A Whales Tale

I have the wonderful privilege of photographing the Yoga Hawaii events and yoga students.  Currently they are holding a Teacher Training for 12 Japanese students.  They have two classes a day plus lecture, hands on adjustments, and much more.  They also get to have some fun!  We went Whale Watching out in Waikiki and ended up seeing three whales!  It started with a very cloudy sky, but once we got past the harbor and out by Diamond Head, it was actually very clear and for the most part a easy ride.  It was cold however…and I wore shorts and a tee shirt!  I feel so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful yoga studio…thanks guys!

Batter UP

So I’ve been watching Cole for like 5 years now…yes he will be turning 6 this year!  It’s amazing how time flies by.  He was so little and could barely put a complete sentence together to this little kid who’s playing soccer and baseball!  He’s also been skiing in Whistler and they’re heading off to Costa Rica this year!  I know, he’s one lucky kid.  I went to watch his game and this is what I caught.  It’s super cute to watch 5 yr old run after the ball and try to make plays…so many kids, so much going on, but somehow they make it through 3 innings! 

Lo’I Kalo

I’ve know the Wilhelm ‘Ohana for years now and they are constantly doing something interesting and off the map.  They’ve been working for a long time now on developing this piece of land.  Where once there was only brush and trees, now there is a lo`I and soon Kalo, among many other ideas they have going.  I feel so blessed to be a part of this amazing process and to have the opportunity to know such wonderful individuals.

 

 

Morning Yoga…

Meet Zach, my ashtanga yoga teacher…well one of them anyway.  He’s up and at the studio bright and early at 5am six days a week ready to help anyone who wants to progress their ashtanga practice.  He’ll work with you one on one and teach you the sequence part by part each day.  You’ll build your endurance and understanding of the postures and get an amazing workout. 

Zach’s amazing in his own practice and is super patient with anyone willing to learn.

North Shore Wedding

I had the wonderful opportunity to hang out with this little guy and photograph his mommy and daddy's wedding, on the beach at sunset.  It was a beautiful wedding with friends and family all gathered in Hawaii to celebrate!

 
Of course the bride was just beautiful in her simple white dress, a beautiful wedding.  Everyone was so excited to be there, they had been playing for a few days before the wedding!  This was the big event and everyone flew in from all over the states!

Yes, we got to do some fun shots right as the sun hit the water...

A beautiful wedding and a wonderful time for me, I got to hang out up on the North Shore all weekend, SURF, YOGA, BIKE RIDES and AWESOME FRIENDS.  More people should get married in Hawaii, it's truly amazing.

Mahalo Kaui

Glacier Bay; Alaska

Today was a sea day…we didn’t stop, we couldn’t get off…we were at sea! We went to glacier bay and got to see the different glaciers.

 

I was not impressed with my glacier. This is a small version of what I expected to see…a mini titanic like floating piece of ice…

I got what looked like a mountain with snow melting.

 

It was still a beautiful area and there were sea gulls, whales, and a bear on the mountain.

Skagway; Alaska

Our second port of call and a super cute little town. No street lights, no stop signs, and no lines down the middle of the street. It was so cute and I’d totally love to do some high school seniors in this little town.

It was a little cold today, and it actually rained while my sister and I were walking around in town. She thought it was a good idea to wear slippers and ended up stepping in two puddles of water…needless to say we were done bearing the harsh weather conditions for the day.

Our main goal was to find my sister a soft chewy chocolate chip cookie. We were not successful. You’d think we could find just one cookie!

There was the cutest trams/cars that were taking people from one side of town to the next and the train ran right through the middle of town.

   

All the buildings were different, the streets were made of stone and the “sidewalks” were wooden boards. There were ally’s and little gardens and even a real Inn.

We had a nice time walking around and seeing the sights and even the rain wasn’t too bad.

seattle; washington

ok so we have to back track a little...

we arrived in seattle on sunday morning at 6am local time.  needless to say we were tired but excited to start our adventure.  i'm traveling with my mom and sister, aunty and cousin and of course my grandma who is the one who made this all possible.  it's our second all girls trip and boy are we lucky...and excited.

we took a limo to the dock (only because we all don't fit in a taxi) and went to Pikes Peak to wait for my cousin to meet us from San Fran.  We calked around this cute little harbor town with all the shops and festivals.  it was all about the cheese that day.  they also seem to have a thing with pigs but i'm not sure why.

there were stores upon stores, but they all didn't open till 11am because it was sunday.  we did however get to see a small version of the whole "fish market" thing, where someone orders a fish and they fly it to each other.  it was still early and the fish were small and the guys were standing right next to each other, but we got the idea.  they had the best fruit and flower stands though...

they had street entertainers and dogs were out and about.  it was a mini version of san fran's fisherman's warf.  it was nice to be back in the cold weather again...i kinda miss LA at times.

all in all we had a wonderful morning and were excited to get onto our ship and begin our voyage.

happy 1st birthday

Yes he made it to ONE year old and what a celebration it was. There was a bouncy house, games, and two clowns.




The food was awesome…Hawaiian of course…and there was an ice cream machine with Sunday toppings. It doesn’t get better than that.



With all the planning and preparing, the party was an extraordinary success. Congratulations to the ‘ohana and blessing for many years to come.
